All of Art Basel was amazing. Radio interviews, surprise sets, and the incredible amount of support for Basel Bass are just some of the highlights. I played one building away from Diplo, met Gaslamp Killer, hung out with Mochipet, madSavvy, MartyParty, and really got to let my BASS flag fly. In short, my week has been lit af.
Flux is a live performance and interview show on Jolt Radio. Otto Von Schirach and I headed down to the show to talk about our upcoming Basel Bass event and give a little taste of what’s to come. Then we headed to Basement Miami to tear things up at the Edition Hotel in Miami Beach. The next day, I got to do a surprise set with Otto Von Schirach at the pop-up art gallery for Quiet Lunch + Bucketfeet. I played an hour and a half of jumpy bass tunes one building away from Coyo Taco’s Rum & Bass block party with Diplo and Major Lazer.
Friday night, if you were anywhere in Wynwood, then you likely saw me and the crew on Afro Beta’s float, “Your Best Worst Nightmare”. We rode around Wynwood with Mochipet, madSavvy, The Galactic Effect, Y-Diz, Serious George and more while Otto was on the mic getting everyone hyped. We gave out free Pocky and told everyone about Basel Bass. The float ended up at Wynwood Brewery and it turned into an impromptu block party. It was awesome to bring smiles to random people on the streets of Wynwood.
Saturday was one for the books! So many thank you’s so just know if you were involved, you are appreciated. Strange Media’s Basel Bass was the best party of the week as far as I’m concerned. Mochipet threw down, MartyParty dropped tons of unreleased stuff, and we even had a surprise performance from my favorite ladies, Basside! The next day was a fetish party and then Churchill’s for Basel Fasel. Let’s just say I’m still coming down from this week.
So as a thank you for all of that awesomeness, I wanted to give you guys a song that I’ve been playing in my sets for about 2 months or so. I played it on Jolt Radio and at some performances here and there and everyone always asks where I got that version. Well surprise (no surprise) it’s my version. So without further ado, here is Gnash featuring Olivia O’Brien – i hate u, i love u (LAMEBOT Remix).
